Aquaculture Research Center

Grobest’s portfolio comprises mainly feed additives and products from the diverse family of aquaculture feedstuff. Among these, additives require ceaseless testing during development, trials, small- and large-scale production to assess whether they are safe to be launched and to evaluate correct dosage.

The establishment of the Aquaculture Research Center in Grobest aims to explore the performance of Grobest products from an objective perspective through rigorous biological experiments. All data are carefully documented and compiled for an assessment on how these products improve animal growth and health. The data are then fed back to Grobest to serve as the fundament for future product development.

Grobest’s Aquaculture Research Center devises new formulas for fish and shrimp feed incorporating internally developed additives, but also keeps watch after launch by testing the growth of animals, their survival rate, and feed conversion rate of the feed amongst other properties. In addition, the Center develops fish and shrimp aquaculture technologies and breeds high-quality specimens for use in tests so as to ensure the reliability of said tests. The Center also works closely with Grobest’s R&D department on breeding and test design, and further enables technical service personnel to acquire a sufficient level of understanding for the entire culture process of fish and shrimp, knowing that water quality control plays an important role in successful farming through instrumental testing and analysis.

01

Testing

Expert researchers in the Aquaculture Research Center conduct physiological tests for a variety of feed additives, including fishmeal replacements, trace elements, vitamins, probiotics, Chinese herbs and additives for fermentation products, etc.
02

Examination

Examination items include weight gain, survival rate, feed conversion rate and ingestion rate, as well as fish dissection to calculate visceral-body ratio, liver-body ratio and muscle density, and to observe gastric folds, etc.
03

Farming

Other purposes of Aquaculture Research Center are breeding and nursing fish and shrimp specimens for use in tests conducted by the R&D department. During tests, our R&D observe and analyze how fish and shrimp respond to the feed made with newly developed additives. They research and develop new additives with due thoroughness, undertaking trial aquaculture under realistic conditions provided by the Aquaculture Research Center to obtain credible results, so as to ensure that Grobest feed additives and feed products remain a reliable and quality choice for farmers.
